Research Visits Between Partners

2025

March 1 - May 31:

As part of the “Mobility Program – Outgoing Mobility for Doctoral Students,” funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, PhD student Marin Đujić (IoPZg) visited the research group of Tobias Donner at ETH Zurich to gain advanced training in experimental techniques in cavity quantum electrodynamics (cQED) with ultracold atoms.

April 3 - 4:

Ivor Krešić and Juraj Gajović (Master student) both from the Institute of Physics in Zagreb visited Giovanna Morigi's group at the Universität des Saarlandes. Experimental results related to the observation of a dip in fluorescence when many comb modes are coupled into the cavity were discussed. Possible theoretical models were proposed.

March 3 - 4:

Giovanna Morigi from the at the Universität des Saarlandes visited the research group of Tobias Donner at ETH Zurich to discuss the common project on the formation of metastable subradiant states in many-body cavity QED.

April 3 - 4 :

Ticijana Ban from the Institute of Physics in Zagreb visited Giovanna Morigi's group at the Universität des Saarlandes. Ban gave a presentation on the latest experimental results of the IoPZg group, which involve cold atoms in an optical resonator excited by an optical frequency comb in a longitudinal geometry. The discussion focused on modeling the experimental results and exploring new ideas related to the implementation of WP1.

February 5 - 6:

Gian Luca Giorgi from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) / Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFISC) in Palma de Mallorca visited Ticijana Ban's group at the Institute of Physics in Zagreb. He delivered a seminar titled "Theoretical Framework for Quantum Associative Memories." The visit also included a discussion on how to demonstrate associative memories using atoms in an optical resonator excited by an optical frequency comb.

2024

November 15:

Giovanna Morigi from the at the Universität des Saarlandes visited the research group of Tobias Donner at ETH Zurich to discuss the common project on the formation of metastable subradiant states in many-body cavity QED.

QNet Workshop

We will organize at the end of the project a three-days' workshop on “Harnessing noise for quantum technologies” open to a wide interdisciplinary scientific and industrial community. The workshop will be organized for 50 participants at the Institute of Physics (IOPZg) in Zagreb. We will share our results and findings and will consider extending our work beyond the scope of the current project.
